History of the Church and Founder
Apostle. Sajeev Kumar was from a poor Hindu family. He was the last son to their parents. He could not study well because of his family’s inability to afford his education. He had great zeal of study, even he could not complete 2nd standard but by God’s grace and his constant hard work, he was able to read bible and also could speak English. And was able to read English literature. He had been working as Herdsman at one rich man’s house. And he helped his family to survive by winning bread and butter daily. . While he was gazing his flock one day he felt concretely that God has called him to witness and to do His ministry. But he didn’t have any idea what it was and how it was done. And the same day one man of God, whom he had never met before and after that meet, came to his house and said “God commanded me to tell you that he wants to use your gifts and relents in His service.”That was the moment He confirmed that God is a asking him for His service. The man of God thought him about the salvation and about Christ. That was the time he had committed to serve. He started going to church and ministering in Church. But he never wanted to be a full time minister for the reasons he didn’t have knowledge and couldn’t read and of course the family was so poor. God warned him 2 times and his mother felt sick and was near to death, them again the Word came to him asked him for ministry. Then when he started speaking to God about his fears, He answered I know my dear son, I called you to be light in darkness. I will be with you. Then He touched his mouth and blessed him. Then the miracle happen he started praying and preaching Gospel with power. Then one day he asked God where to go? Then God showed a village name which he never heard before. He enquired it and found it was 40 kilometres away from his place. He came Billakurru and found no Christian. And people there were Hindu fanatics. Again he was afraid of people, but he got strengthened by the burden of lost perishing souls. So on fine day he started to come to this village on a rented bicycle to preach. Just because he choose to follow Jesus and serve him, his parents and brothers, sisters left him and sent out of their house. But he never gave up the call for he is so convinced and sure that He who called him is able to meet all his needs. In those days He used to stay in pastors’houses, going ministry and also doing part time labour work for ministry needs.
He married to Miss Martha who was committed her life for God’s ministry. God joined them who had same vision for God. Martha was born and raised from a Christian family.
God saved him from many deadly accidents and difficulties. They started working together in Billakurru village for whom they were called. There was no one who stood behind them to support. They starved, stoned, beaten, imprisoned and still they never gave up the call. Many times attacked by snakes for the place they were allowed to stay was on bank of the channel with full of wild trees, bushes and desolate. God blessed them with 4 children. There were many days they lived with one meal for 3 days. They spent time and days with 3 pairs of dresses. He could find a place in government land to have small shelter where his family lived and church was started.
They used to go by foot to the villages and preach the Gospel with tracts. Sometimes people from the villages would throw them out of the village. They would conduct Street meetings under government street lights. They would lay their children on floor and go to houses to call people. It might so dramatic for people now but thinking of those days and the commitment he had, and struggles he had gone through were still in front of his children till now. There were so many things, miracles, great things God did in and through Him. Wish we write all those things here.
